WHAT RULES APPLY TO THE HANDLING OF PERSONAL DATA?
As a member of Lakeside Sportsclub AG, you allow us access to your personal data. We want you to feel secure as a member with us, knowing that your data is properly controlled. Therefore, we assure you in this privacy statement that we process data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and in compliance with any official decisions. In this Privacy Policy, we explain how Lakeside Sportsclub AG protects the privacy of its members, what data we collect, how we collect it, and for what purposes we use the data.
WHAT IS PERSONAL DATA?
Personal data is information that can be assigned to a person. At Lakeside Sportsclub AG, this includes, for example, names, addresses, dates of birth, gender details, e-mail addresses, cell phone numbers and credit card/bank details.
RESPONSIBILITY AND BASIS FOR DATA PROCESSING:
Lakeside Sportsclub AG is responsible for the processing of personal data collected when you use our services. Excluded from this responsibility is the Lakeside Sportsclub AG in the case of data collection, which is collected by third party providers of services in our club. Specifically, these are eGym GmbH, based in Munich, and Tanita Europe, based in Amsterdam. You will be made aware of and must agree to the privacy policy of these companies when you first visit our studio. If you conclude a membership with Lakeside Sportsclub AG, we can process your personal data. This is the only way we can offer you the promised service (see Data Protection Act § 8 lit. a.). In addition, we process your personal data based on the consent you give us when you register.
WHAT DATA DO WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU?
Information that you provide to us:
Lakeside Sportsclub AG processes both the personal data that you provide to us when you register and any other data that you provide to us voluntarily, such as when you provide information to one of our employees. This may be your name, address and e-mail address or other information.
Information we collect when you use our services:
When you use our websites or train at our clubs, we collect your activities. We digitally collect information about what devices you use – such as cell phones, tablets or computers. We also collect information about web browsers, IP addresses and the like. Finally, we process data about the articles you read in our newsletter and on our homepage, and about your communication with our customer service.
We track how often you visit our club and how long you have been a member of our club.
INFORMATION WE RECEIVE FROM OTHERS
In certain cases, we receive information from third parties that help us evaluate the use of our digital platforms. In addition, we may receive information through social media.
CREDIT CARD/BANK DETAILS
Lakeside Sportsclub AG collects your credit card/bank account information either when you register or when you notify us of changes to your payment method. Lakeside Sportsclub AG does not have direct access to your credit card, but has an agreement with Concardis Schweiz AG, the company that holds your credit card information. For more information, please visit: https://www.concardis.com/ch-de. At Lakeside Sportsclub AG, your credit card information is anonymized and made unreadable.
VIDEO SURVEILLANCE
Our studio is under video surveillance. For video surveillance, we comply with the applicable laws and regulations as well as the guidelines and requirements of the Swiss supervisory authority. There is no real-time monitoring in our studios The images are stored on our own server and are only used in very specific cases, mostly to detect criminal activity or violations of the membership conditions regarding access to our studios. Only selected employees of ours have access to these images. After seven (7) days, all images will be automatically deleted.
WHAT DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION FOR?
- We are always striving to provide you with a customized and positive customer experience at Lakeside. We use personal information specifically for the following purposes:
- We provide you with the services you expect. For example, we need your email address and hand- y number to provide you with necessary information.
- We help you to minimize time and effort. Through an automatic login and predefined indications.
- We want to understand statistical trends and needs in the market. We analyze data for larger user groups to develop and improve our products for you.
- We want to tailor our information to you and your interests. For example, we can provide you with articles and training programs that match what you have previously read or are interested in.
- We want to provide you with targeted advertising, offers and content and measure their impact. We want to provide you with content that fits you as well as possible. We also measure how well we succeed in doing this. To this end, we use information about you, about where you are and what you read.
- We want to prevent unwanted or criminal behavior. It is very important to us that you can train safely with us. We do our utmost to prevent criminal or otherwise undesirable behavior. Using various types of data, such as how often an access chip is used, etc., we can detect rule violations.
MARKETING AND SURVEYS
We may send you offers about products and services via email or other channels. If you do not want us to do so, you can opt out in your preferences. All such marketing will be conducted in accordance with marketing law.
From time to time, we conduct surveys. The target groups for these can be selected based on personal data such as age and gender.
IS INFORMATION SHARED WITH THIRD PARTIES?
Lakeside Sportsclub AG shares personal information with other companies in certain cases, primarily to provide you with better and safer services. This happens in the following cases:
- When others provide services on our behalf. For example, third parties may perform payment transactions on our behalf. These companies may use the information obtained solely for the purpose of providing your services to us.
- For security reasons. To protect your user account from access by third parties.
- In case of suspicion of illegal activities. In that case, we will provide information to the authorities upon request. We also transmit data in case of existing suspicion of fraud or to settle existing disputes.
- For marketing purposes to a few selected partners of Lakeside Sportsclub.
HOW CAN I MANAGE PERSONAL DATA?
Updating personal data
It is important that our information about you is accurate. Please notify us of any changed information at member@lakeside-sportsclub.ch.

Deletion of personal data
In the event that your membership with Lakeside Sportsclub AG is terminated, we will not store your personal data for longer or to a greater extent than necessary to achieve the objectives pursued with the storage; unless we are legally obligated to do so. In addition, we generally anonymize your data after two years at the latest. However, there are some important exceptions. The two most important exceptions are:
For accounting purposes, we must retain payment transactions for a period of ten (10) years. We do not have access to your credit card number, only to the actual payment transaction.
We will retain the email address and cell phone number you provide so that we may contact you after your membership ends to provide you with certain offers. You may terminate this communication at any time.
RIGHT OF ACCESS TO PERSONAL DATA
You may contact us at any time at member@lakeside-sportsclub.ch to request information about the personal data we hold about you. In accordance with applicable law, this information is provided to you free of charge.
